πŸ“™ My Story

I was born Muslim but Islam wasn't a priority growing up. In my final year of business school, I started to take relationship with my creator more seriously 🀲.

Fast forward  15 years later, I have taught 100s of new Muslims a basic overview of Islam; have helped many people through the Islamic hotline in clearing misconceptions about Islam. Alhumdulilah (All praise and thanks to God) many were guided to Islam πŸ‘³ πŸ§•.

I also had the opportunity to take a 10 months Arabic course so I can have a better understanding of the final scripture from God, The Holy Quran, revealed in Arabic.

In a nutshell, I have mastered the  🎨 art of explaining Islam to people of different faiths and Muslims at different levels of Islam.

When I started practicing, there wasn't a structured, easy-to-understand source that can teach me the basics. Most of the sources went over my head as it was either written in very bad English or sounded like my 10th grade Shakespeare class.

My goal is to take the topic of Islam, which is the way of life, easy for people to understand and apply in their lives.βœ”οΈ

βš—οΈThe Secret to Learning Islam

Over the past 15 years, I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to learning Islam as a beginner, scratching the surface of the ocean of knowledge that is out there to improve our lives. I’ve spent countless weekends in taking courses from various institutes and read tons of books covering various topics of Islam. All of this to find the secret sauce that makes some people have a better understanding of Islam than others. And you know what? There’s no secret. It’s mostly just a matter of β€”
  1. They learn small but are consistent
  2. They are learning from the right sources
  3. They teach others what they learn
  4. Repeating steps 1 to 3
That’s all it takes. I can guarantee that if you follow this simple, 4-part formula, your life will change in ways you can’t imagine. For a start, you’ll learn incredibly useful knowledge, you’ll gain reward by God for staying on the path of learning, and you’ll benefit the lives of so many others along the path, while you are teaching others what you are learning.😊

But sadly, as with all things, getting started and maintaining quality + consistency is easier said than done.

🎯 The Challenges of Being a Newly Practicing Muslim

  • Getting started is the hard part. You are looking for someone to just get you started
  • You’ll have to get over the fear of judgment from friends, family, and strangers at the mosque because you might not be doing things "perfectly".
  • You’ll have to figure out what you’re going to talk about, and why anyone would learn from you, as you are just a rookie.
  • You’ll are thrown knowledge from all over the place and just don't know what is it that you are "actually" supposed to do.
And you’ll have to do all this (and a lot more) while juggling your job, studies, relationships, and health, while also doing your best to enjoy the journey and avoid burnout.

This is hard. It takes a lot of work. But it’s also really fun, and if you can make it work, it’s genuinely life-changing. I want to make sure that your roots are strong so you when you are a big strong tree, you'll be benefiting yourself and others with the fruits that you'll be producing.

If there's one at all, the real "secret" is that you want to make sure that you START on the right path. You make sure that your roots are strong and you have a strong grasp of the basics of Islam.

I was able to build strong roots for myself in the beginning and I can help you get your foundations strong as well.

🧠 The Islam Crash Course

The Islam Crash Course is a self-study crash course diving into the basics of Islam. I'll teach you everything that you need to know in terms of setting a solid mindset and making your foundation and roots stronger.

It’s based on Islam 101, the classes I taught to a number of new Muslims, and also the step-by-step system I followed when I used to pick up calls on Islamic Hotline, answering questions from non-Muslims, so I can clear their misconceptions about Islam.

This course will launch on Saturday August 7th 2021. Registration is open for a limited time.

πŸ“˜ By the end of the Islam Crash Course You'll Know...

🧬 Setting the Stage

We'll start by knowing the meaning of Islam and what does it mean to be a Muslim. Also covering topics from criteria of our actions to be accepted and the sources of Islamic Knowledge

πŸ₯… Goals of Islam

Once you know what does Islam mean, we'll cover topics around the goals of Islam. Worship of Allah, freeing humans from worshipping others, making life on earth flourishing and sound and establishing justice are some of the goals we'll cover.

πŸ“ Fruits of Becoming a Muslim

What is in it for me? Why should I become a Muslim. Is it mandatory and or something nice to do? All of these questions will be answered in this module.

πŸ’‘ Pillars of Belief (Iman)

Understanding the internal belief system is important before we get into rituals and do's and don'ts of Islam

🌲 Pillars of Worship

This section will cover the topics of different deeds and rituals that are mandatory upon a Muslim. Hint...Prayer and fasting in the month of Ramadan are one of them!

πŸŒ™ Prophet Muhammad

The life of Prophet Muhammad is a course on its own but in the module we'll briefly look into his life, his prophethood, his miracles and quick intro to his family and companions.

πŸ“— The Quran

The final revelation, the word of God is a topic we must cover. This is not a word by word translation of the Quran as that will be something we'll have to cover in multiple courses. This section will cover the topics such as Quran vs other scriptures, why is it the true word of God and how it is preserved.

🌱 Lifestyle and Social Interactions

Islam's emphasis on behavior, manners and etiquette is an important topic to cover. Our dealings with different relationships that we have such as parents, spouse, children, neighbors and other non-Muslims members of our society. What are some of the Do's and Don'ts and also what are some of the holidays Muslims celebrate.

πŸ΄σ ¬σ £σ €±σ €±σ Ώ Fortifying and Increasing One's Faith

Once we have understood the concepts of basics of Islam, it is important to know the techniques on increasing our faith and building even a strong relationship with Allah (God). What are the ways that we can get closer to God and what are some of the things that are harmful to our souls that we should be staying away from?

🀝 Homework Assignments & Quizzes

The Homework Assignments and Quizzes are the single most important part of the course.

If you can't (or won't) commit to doing any of the homework assignments given after a lesson and Quiz after completing a module, this course isn't for you. You won't get much value out of it.
In this case, I would suggest sticking to watching random YouTube videos. It would be like signing up for a gym class, showing up to watch the tutorial, and not doing any exercise. It might be interesting, but it wouldn't get you any results.

My goal is to teach you the basics but I also expect input from your end as well. The best way to learn is to teach, to ponder about what you have learned, to internalize and take action.

You can't grow in your Islamic journey unless you are consistent in learning and finishing at least one module a week.

πŸ‘¨πŸ½β€πŸ’» Who's the Course for?

πŸš€ Newly 'Practicing' Muslim

You were born a Muslim but never grew up practicing.

You always knew that Islam is the truth but now you want to get more serious. You have recognized that life is short and want to make sure that you fulfill all the commands of your creator before you are gone from his world.

After the course - You'll know the commands of your creator. You'll  be able to filter out culture from religions as some of what you have been taught is not really part of Islam but its part of the culture of the country/society where you are from. You'll have strong roots of basics of Islam and will be able to add value to yourself and others around you.

πŸ‘Ά New Muslims

Congratulations! You were not born in a Muslim family but through some soul searching, you decided to embrace Islam. Now What?

You are starting from scratch and just want to make sure that you do it right.

After the course - You'll be even more confident and at peace that the decision that you took to become a Muslim was the best decision of your life. You know it is the right path but you don't know how to take the path and where to start the journey. This course will guide you to the right path.

This course isn't for you if...

  1. You're not willing to put in the time and effort to finish at least 1 module per week and completing all the assignments at the end of lessons and/or modules.
  2. You're looking for a magic bullet that'll give you all that you need to know about Islam. There's no secret here. It's just about putting in the work, doing it consistently, and teaching it to others.

Guidance is from Allah. We'll do our best to teach you the systems and processes that have worked for us and our students, but we can't 'guarantee' you'll be an exemplary Muslim by the time you are done with this course.

Having said all that, one thing we can guarantee is that if you are consistent and put your time and effort into learning the deen ( way of life) of Allah, which is Islam, your efforts and your work will bring a change in your life and others.
